Financial Illiteracy
Can you believe that there are thousands of Americans are so financially illiterate they don't have any clue on how to management money. Why is it that you have to go through driver's education to get a driver's license, but you don't have to go through financial education in high school or later to get a checking account, credit card, IRA, file taxes, buy insurance and many other things we take for granted.
As a dozen people I interviewed told me that some millenials use their debit card until it doesn't work anymore, that is how they balance their account. Then their are people who have never been taught anything about finance growing up who then get a checking account and debit card.
Many don't understand why their checking account is overdrawn or check bounced because why should it, they still have checks!!!
